The Art of Growth: Cultivating the Mind Through Creativity
I hope you enjoy my log of art lessons, collection of student work, teacher materials, some of my personal artwork, creative practice, and explorations.

My name is Fawn Bruzan. I’m a teaching artist, licensed in K-12 Art Education. I believe that art is one of the best ways to research and reflect upon the world around us. I am inspired by nature, culture, history, math, and science. I create with a wide variety of mediums; spanning from ceramics, printmaking, painting, sculpture, metal-work, jewelry, photography, found object assemblage and collage, and just about anything and everything in between. I love to bring my life experience and personal art practice into the classroom. In much of my work, I am concerned much more with the creative process, rather than the end product – although having something nice to show off is a major plus!
In my classroom I focus on inter-disciplinary projects, bridging art with core subjects such as literature, science, math, human geography and history. I believe art is a necessary facet of education that promotes individuality, creativity, and imagination. My goal is to help all of my students find an art medium, technique, or process that they find enjoyable, and help them find their flow state. Art class is an opportunity to build confidence in trying out something new, which carries into each and every action we take in life.
